OpenMLS® Mission

The mission of the OpenMLS® Registry/Registrars is to plan, build, and operate a distributed and centralized open multiple listing system globally. With Accredited OpenMLS® Registrars, new competition will be created along with more choices for consumers and real estate professionals to list their properties online to sell.

Our mission will create a public platform for a "level playing field" within the real estate industry. The OpenMLS® Activity is administered by the Global Real Estate And Technology Consortium (GR8C), a non-profit science organization.

Becoming an Accredited OpenMLS® Registrar

In the future, GR8C will invite potential registrars to apply for accreditation to become an OpenMLS® Registrar. The accreditation process will involve a review of an organization's financial, technical, and management status and capability of becoming a registrar.

Once accredited, registrars will be able to accept registered listings not only in their home country, but also in other cities and countries. Our goal is to have accredited registrars operational in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe in the next 5 years.

Registrants are users who register their listings with an accredited registrar. Besides registering, registrants will be able to query listings at registrars' sites using the Muliple Listing Service Network Protocol. All registrars will have access to all listings globally.
